From Friday, Bengaluru Namma Metro's Yellow Line will run more frequently during peak hours. Trains will now arrive every 9 minutes instead of every 10 minutes, possibly because an eighth train has been added to operate between Bommasandra and RV Road stations. While the improvement during peak hours is only 1

minute, there is a larger change during non-peak hours. The wait between trains will be reduced from 18 minutes to 14 minutes, giving passengers a smoother travel experience throughout the day.
Addition of Eighth Train
The eighth train was added by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) a few days ago. However, it was initially kept as a standby train to handle emergencies. Since no new trains are expected to arrive next month, many commuters and social media users urged BMRCL to use the extra train to improve service frequency. On Wednesday, former Infosys CFO T. V. Mohandas Pai criticised the decision to keep the train on standby. He called it unfair to passengers and requested Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar to step in and address the issue.
Inspection of Blue Line
Meanwhile, as people continue to wait for more Metro lines in the city, BMRCL Managing Director J Ravishankar inspected the upcoming Blue Line project between Kasturinagar and Kodigehalli Cross. He instructed officials to speed up work on the elevated viaduct along the Outer Ring Road to reduce traffic problems in the area.
Moreover, the improved frequency on the Yellow Line is expected to provide some relief to daily commuters.
