Bengaluru to Get a 250-Metre Skydeck at Kengeri, Taller Than Qutub Minar; Check Details

Bengaluru is getting ready to welcome a new tourist attraction-a 250-metre tall skydeck that will be taller than Delhi's Qutub Minar. The Karnataka government has selected Nadaprabhu Layout (NPKL) near Kengeri as the final location for this grand project. The skydeck will offer a stunning 360-degree view of the city and is expected to become a major landmark under the Brand Bengaluru initiative.

Bengaluru to Get a 250-Metre Skydeck

Skydeck to Highlight Bengaluru's Beauty

The skydeck project aims to promote tourism while showcasing Bengaluru's cultural richness and green beauty. The city is known as the Garden City of India, and this tower will give visitors a new way to admire its landscape from above. The plan is to create a space that not only attracts tourists but also reflects the city's modern outlook and historical charm.

Why Kengeri Was Chosen

Several locations were considered for the skydeck, including the Jnanabharathi campus, Benniganahalli, Kommaghatta, and the KSDL premises in Yeshwanthpur. However, air safety rules set by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) did not allow a 250-metre structure in those areas.

The government initially focused on building the skydeck on the Jnanabharathi campus. But this proposal raised concerns that the high number of visitors could disturb the university's academic environment. After reviewing these issues in a meeting led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, the government finally approved Kengeri as the best location.

Part of Brand Bengaluru Vision

The skydeck is an important part of the Brand Bengaluru plan to make the city a global tourist destination. Bengaluru already enjoys popularity for its pleasant climate and greenery. With this new skydeck, tourists will have one more reason to explore the city.

Officials have promised that the structure will include all modern features, just like other popular sky observation towers in India. The tower will also serve as a symbol of the city's progress and ability to mix tradition with modern development.

Balancing Growth and Sensitivity

By shifting the location to Kengeri, the government has shown care in balancing development with existing needs. This move avoids disrupting university life while still pushing forward with a project that could change the face of tourism in Bengaluru.

The 250-metre skydeck is expected to become a must-visit spot and a proud addition to Bengaluru's skyline in the coming years.
