If you travel often in East Bengaluru, here's something important to know. Starting June 14, the road from Benniganahalli to Kasturinagar, running next to the railway line, will be closed for 90 days. The reason? The Railway Department has begun building a bridge on the Railway Parallel Road in this area, which comes under the KR Pura Traffic Police Station.

This work is expected to make travel smoother in the long run, but for now, it means some changes and a bit of patience from commuters. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic East), Sahil Bagla, explained that the road closure is necessary to keep the public safe and allow the construction to move ahead without delays.
What You Need to Know About Traffic Diversions
The Coca Cola Godown Road-from Benniganahalli (near the Sadanandanagar Bridge) to Old Madras Road-will be off-limits to all vehicles during this construction phase.
To help people get around, alternate routes have been arranged:
- If you are going from Old Madras Road near the Benniganahalli Railway Bridge toward Kasturinagar, you should take the detour via Hebbal Ring Road.
- If you are heading from Kasturinagar to Old Madras Road, use the route through Sadanandanagar via the NGEF Signal.
The traffic police will be on duty to help guide drivers and put up signboards along the way. Everyone is kindly asked to follow their instructions and use the alternate routes to avoid delays and confusion.
Plan Ahead and Stay Updated
This construction project is expected to last around three months. While it may cause a bit of inconvenience, it's all part of improving the area's infrastructure. Authorities will keep an eye on how things go and may adjust the traffic plans if needed.
If you're someone who travels in this part of the city often-whether for work, school, or errands-it's a good idea to plan your daily route in advance. Staying updated with local traffic advisories can save you time and stress.
