There is a piece of big news coming from US Embassy in India that it is temporarily shutting down all visa services including appointment booking, calls, fee payments. The temporary halt in the visa application process by the US Embassy in India is a part of their efforts to enhance customer experience and efficiency.

The visa application procedure will temporarily be suspended for three days, according to a recent announcement from the US Embassy in India. The move of the customer service centre, VFS, to a new platform is the cause of this pause.
People won't be able to call, make payments, or schedule appointments relating to visa applications from 12 July to 14th July and US Embassy assured that it will resume all suspended services from 15th July.

So, U.S. Embassy India tweeted "Attention visa applicants! Our customer service center VFS is migrating to a new platform and will be temporarily closed for calls, fee payments, and appointment bookings from July 12-14. These services will resume on July 15.
