Assam is Six helicopter flights finally connected the four cities in Assam from February 8th as part of the Regional Connectivity Scheme. The project sought to launch a total of 86 flights in six states, with Assam serving as the first phase. The journey will begin in Dibrugarh, travel through Jorhat, and Tezpur, and end in Guwahati.

According to the announcement, the operationalization of these routes in the state would make it easier for locals to travel and will enhance trade and tourism. The project's primary goal is to provide air connection to remote northeastern districts with not proper rail and road connectivity.

To safeguard the security of domestic air travellers departing from smaller air terminals across India, the government is considering proposals to increase security protocols for more than 60 airports in tier two and tier three cities under the Center's regional connectivity scheme UDAN. The Central Industrial Security Force will provide complete anti-terror protection for the airports with the presence of more than 1,600 troops.

The 4 cities of Dibrugarh, Tezpur, Jorhat, and Guwahati rank among Assam's most significant tourist destinations. Let us understand a little importance and how they are important in terms of tourism with their brief introduction.

Assam's tea-growing region includes Dibrugarh, sometimes known as the "Tea City of India." The city serves as the entry point to Assam's three primary tea-growing regions, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, and Sibsagar.

Majuli, the biggest river island in the world, can be reached from Jorhat, on the opposite hand. It will be simpler for visitors to see the tranquil beauty of this location and its numerous tea plants now that helicopters can get there.

UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaziranga National Park, which has the world's highest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, is not far from Tezpur. This is one of the main reasons why tourists flock to this location, and using helicopter services to get there will make travelling much simpler and more comfortable.

Finally, Guwahati, the capital of Assam, has an influx of both leisure and business travellers. People would be able to see the beauty of Assam as a state and have access to the Northeast thanks to this chopper connectivity.
