As Navratri approaches, Gujarat Tourism invites everyone to join in the grand celebration of this vibrant festival. This year, Ahmedabad will host the biggest Garba event, promising a celebration like no other. The festival will last for nine days, bringing people of all ages together to dance, pray, and enjoy Gujarat's rich cultural traditions.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on October 3, 2024, at Gujarat University Ground, near Helmet Char Rasta, Ahmedabad. The event will start at 8:00 p.m. Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amitbhai Shah, will inaugurate the Vibrant Navratri Festival 2024, with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, making a special appearance. The theme for this year's opening ceremony is "Jai Ma Adyashakti, dedicated to Goddess Durga.
Schedule of Events
Here's what you can expect during Navratri 2024 in Gujarat:
- Inaugural Ceremony: October 3, 2024, on the theme "Jai Ma Adyashakti." The evening will feature a multimedia cultural program and a grand Mahaarti to start the celebrations.
- Sheri Garba: From October 4 to 11, 2024, Garba performances will take place from 9:00 PM to 11:45 PM. These performances will be held on the main stage by renowned artists, and traditional dress is compulsory for all participants.
- Mahaarti: Each night from October 4 to 11, 2024, a special Mahaarti will be conducted at 11:45 PM to conclude the evening's Garba celebrations.
