Indian Railways is working hard to improve travel for devotees and tourists by launching four new train routes. These new trains will make it easier to reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and other important places. New Train Service from Gorakhpur to Katra
One of the most important new routes is the 'Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra - Gorakhpur Express', also known as 15067/15068 Shram Katha Katra Express. This train will run weekly between Gorakhpur in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Vaishno Devi Katra. This is the first direct train between these two places and will help many pilgrims from Eastern Uttar Pradesh and nearby states to travel easily to Vaishno Devi.
There are also plans to extend this train service further in the future. Once the new railway line is completed, the train could connect Katra directly to Srinagar. This will open a new path for both tourists and pilgrims to reach the beautiful Kashmir Valley.
Special Trains for Busy Seasons
To handle the large number of travelers during festivals, Indian Railways has also started special train services. One such service runs between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. These trains, numbered 04049 and 04050, will run twice a week - on Mondays and Saturdays - until November 27. They are meant to reduce the pressure on regular trains during the busy season and give more people a chance to visit the holy shrine.
Pilgrims traveling to Ujjain can also benefit from train numbers 04412/04411 running from Hazrat Nizamuddin station. These efforts show that the railways are focusing on making pilgrimage travel more comfortable and accessible.

Indian Railways also runs special trains during big events like Diwali, Chhath, and the Sant Nirankari Annual Samagam. These trains help people reach their destinations without trouble and show the important role the railways play in India's cultural and religious life.
