Lung-lei, Lunglei

Lung-lei is the second largest town of Mizoram and is located towards the southern part of the state. Lunglei, also known as Lungleh, in literal terms mean "bridge of rock", and this town got its name from the bridge-like rock that is found in the river area of Nghasih, a tributary of river Tlawng.

The town of Lunglei is blessed with magnificent scenic beauty all around it. Tourists from all around the world visit Lunglei every year to enjoy the bliss of nature that is felt here.

Some of the popular tourist spots at Lunglei are Zobawk Sports Academy, Kawmzawi Park, Khawnglung Wildlife Sanctuary, Saikuti Hall (a hall of events and concerts, and also a gallery for local painters), and Thuamluaia Mual (football stadium).

There are also several picnic spots and adventure treks that Lunglei has to offer. One can reach Lunglei by hiring a tourist bus or jeep or even helicopter from Aizawl (175 km).
