Canopy Machan,Lonavala

Canopy Machan was originally constructed as an observation point like Jim Corbett's treetop hunting platform. Later more permanent houses with elegant interior, amazing architecture and undisturbed view of nature attracted tourists.

It promotes ecotourism by minimizing harsh effects on nature. For this authority has been using CFL's and LED's for lighting, recycling of water and use of solar cookers. It has proved beneficiary to the forest and wildlife around, village and local community and also for the staff working at its premises.

It is located at Jambulne which is about 17kms from Lonavala. The drive to the resort treat the eyes with beautiful scenic beauty. The distance is 2.5kms from Mumbai and 1.5kms from Pune.

Canopy Machan is constructed 30ft above the forest. The view of green valley and hill below the Machan is captivating. Spiral stairs lead to safari tents which are luxurious and customized according to the demands of the guests.

Dual roof protects the residents from the sun and downpour. The experience at the Machan is varying during each time of the year. The monsoons are most attractive with waterfalls, streams, winds and lush greenery.

Winter is a chiller than Mumbai temperature but the campfires make the weather more pleasant. Summer has hot afternoons ,but the canopy saves the guests from the sun. Dining outdoor with fireflies and blooming orchids remains a memorable experience.
