Sharana Basaveshwara Temple, Kalburgi

An amazing temple dedicated to the Lingayat saint and philosopher, Sri Sharana Basaveshwara. This temple is located in Gulbarga; this is one of the main attractions in Gulbarga and the sanctum sanctorum of the temple has the samadhi of the saint. The temple have been attracting a lot of tourists and devotees throughout the year.

There is a lake next to the temple and every year, the temple conducts a fair which is celebrated with great fervour and gaiety; this fair attracts a huge crowd. This temples dates back to the history of 12th century and there are carvings of beautiful flowers and other intricate designs. The temple has an assembly hall or a sabha mantapa which has 36 arches and a lot of pillars.
