Unfortunately the earthquakes of 1943 and 1950 completely destroyed the original structure and forced the occupants to move out. The site remained unused for more than a decade after which in 1965 it was reconstructed to its former glory. The grandeur of the manor, the greenery all around the house seemed a perfect location for tourists who come to the city to enjoy nature. Gradually Thengal Manor became a hotel of pride.
Since the Thengal Manor was built for residential purpose, even after being converted into a hotel, the charm of a house hasn’t been lost. The homely feeling that Thengal Manor resonates makes one’s stay worthwhile here. Since there aren’t too many rooms in the hotel, guests can feel privacy even outside their rooms.
