The Cottage is a beautiful holiday resort with the towering Kumaon hills in the background. Originally it was established as a health resort. Later on, it was operated by a Scottish lady and her daughter as a hotel till the year 1947.

Visitors can also buy pure and unadulterated variants of honey from the shops of Jeolikot. Several shops located on the narrow paved ways sell fresh fruits like kiwis, olives and strawberries. Farm-fresh mushrooms are also sold at a reasonable price. Tourists can also buy saplings and small-potted plants. The horticultural department of the government also offers many floricultural and horticultural items for visitors.
