Mandvi was once a famous port town in Gujarat with trade ships sailing in from East Africa, the Persian Gulf, the Malabar Coast and South-East Asia docking here. In the past it served as the hub for spice trade in Northern India.
Today this port city has lost much of its importance with many other ports having come up. Presently it is famous for the tie-dye methods and block-print textiles.
Some of the places to visit in Mandvi include; the Navjivan Nature Cure Centre, Vijay Vilas Palace, the Shipbuilding Yard, the Shyamji Krishna Varma Memorial and many more.
Bhadreshwar
One of the tourist sightseeing places in Mandvi is Bhadreshwar, which is known for its religious significance. It is a centre of Jain pilgrimage where there are 52 shrines and it is believed that the idol of Lord Parshavanath which is said to date back to 500 BC is in one of these shrines. The majestic pillars and the white marble usage speaks of the architectural grandeur of these temples. Visitors come here to marvel these architectural wonders and also to enjoy the environment here.

Koday
Another place to visit in Mandvi is Koday, which is famous for its 72 Jain temples. Although much of these temples now lay in ruins, they still hold the charm of yesteryears. People coming here can marvel at the intricate carvings and other detailed works on the walls of these temples. It also attracts historians who come here to decipher the various inscriptions carved in the walls of the temples.

Kranti Teerth
The Shyamji Krishna Varma Memorial, better known as Kranti Teerth is a major tourist place in Mandvi. The memorial is dedicated to the freedom fighter Shri Shyamji Krishna Varma and his wife Bhanumati. Tourists will see the ashes of the freedom fighter and his wife kept in urns at the Smruthi Kaksh. The memorial is open on all days except Thursday and also has a library and gallery.

Mundra
A major tourist place in Mandvi is the port region of Mundra. Once upon a time this port was famous for its trade of various spices. Although it still is a trading port now, Mundra is famous for its tie-dye and the block-print textiles that are traded here.

Shipbuilding Yard
A sightseeing place in Mandvi would include the Shipbuilding Yard located on the banks of Rukmavati River. You will get to see the process, hard work and skill that goes into the building and assembling of a ship. The yard is known to construct ships for both local as well as international clients. The Shipping Yard is also a trading place for timber.

Vijay Vilas Palace
Another major tourist sightseeing place in Mandvi is the Vijay Vilas Palace, which was constructed by the Rajput king Rao Vijayrajji. With its magnificent central dome, Bengal domes on the side, coloured glass windows, and stone carved window frames this palace is truly an architectural beauty. Scenes from Bollywood movie such as Lagaan and Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam were shot within this palace.

Navjivan Nature Cure Centre
The Navjivan Nature Cure Centre is one of the first Cure Centres of its type. Patients here will find a cure for their ailments by using natural treatments like panchakarma, yoga, naturopathy and many more. The Centre has its own organic farmland where fruits, vegetables and medicinal herbs are grown.

By Air: The nearest airport to Mandvi is in Surat and is situated at a distance of 166 km. It is well-connected to different parts of India.
By Train: The nearest railway station to Mandvi is Madhi Railway Station in Surat, which is at a distance of 175 km. The station has trains connecting to major destinations in the country.
By Road: The local transport available here are private buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws. There are also interstate buses which you can avail to reach here.
