Following the success of the Ahmedabad Metro, which connects various parts of the city, Ahmedabad is now set to receive India's first Vande Metro. On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate this landmark service. The Vande Metro will operate on the Ahmedabad-Bhuj route. According to Pradeep Sharma, Public Relations Officer of Western Railway (Ahmedabad division), the Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro is a fully unreserved, air-conditioned train. Passengers can purchase tickets from the station counter shortly before the train's departure.
While Prime Minister Modi is expected to flag off the Vande Metro service during his two-day visit to Gujarat, the exact time is yet to be confirmed by the Prime Minister's Office.
Vande Metro Train Timings
Pradeep Sharma mentioned that the train has a capacity of 2,058 standing and 1,150 seated passengers. The Vande Metro will depart from Bhuj at 5:05 AM and arrive at Ahmedabad Junction at 10:50 AM. From Ahmedabad departure will be at 17:30 and Arrival at Bhuj is at 23:10.Train will run in all the days of the week except Saturday.
A trial run of the service was successfully conducted earlier this week.
Western Railway officials added that the train will make stops at nine stations and cover a distance of 360 kilometers in 5 hours and 45 minutes, with a maximum speed of 110 kilometers per hour.

Vande Metro Stations
The Vande Metro will stop at nine stations between Ahmedabad and Bhuj. The service is modeled after the indigenous Vande Bharat trains, featuring fully air-conditioned coaches and advanced safety features, including the 'KAVACH' anti-collision system.
PM Modi's Gujarat Visit
On the first day of his two-day visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi will attend an event at Vadsar Air Force Station near Ahmedabad. On Monday, he will inaugurate the 4th edition of the Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet and Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stones and inaugurate development projects worth over ₹8,000 crores in Ahmedabad, and launch the second phase of the Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Rail service.
