At Chandigarh railway station, two popular trains, the Ajmer Vande Bharat Express and the Chandigarh Shatabdi Express, will now leave from platform number 6 instead of platform number 1, and this change was announced recently and started on Tuesday. Railway officials said the reason for this change is to reduce

crowding and improve the movement of passengers at the station. Platform number 1 had been busy, and now that its operations have resumed, trains will be moved to another platform to better handle the flow of travelers.
Ajmer Vande Bharat
Both the Ajmer Vande Bharat and the Shatabdi Express are important trains for people traveling to and from Chandigarh. The Vande Bharat Express connects Chandigarh with Ajmer in Rajasthan, offering fast and modern services on this long-distance route. The Shatabdi Express is another fast daytime train that links Chandigarh with major cities and is preferred by many commuters and long-distance travelers.
Why is the Change Necessary?
Because these trains carry many passengers every day, the railway authorities thought it would be better to spread out train departures across different platforms. By using platform number 6 for these departures, the station hopes to make it easier for everyone to move around, find their trains, and avoid congestion during busy hours.
Passengers planning to travel by either the Vande Bharat or the Shatabdi should now go to platform 6 for boarding and departure. The change in platform number may take some time for regular travelers to get used to, but railway officials say it will help reduce the rush and make the station more organized.
