about ₹6,957 crore. It will expand the Kaliabor-Numaligarh stretch of National Highway-715 by adding new lanes and constructing a long elevated section that passes through the park.

Purpose of the Kaziranga Corridor

The purpose of this elevated corridor is to make it easier for wild animals to move safely across the area, especially during the monsoon season, and to reduce accidents between animals and vehicles. The design follows expert recommendations so that wildlife can cross under the road without danger. It's expected to improve travel and boost tourism, help local jobs, and strengthen connections between central and upper Assam.

Two Amrit Bharat Express Trains

At the same event, Mr. Modi also virtually flagged off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains, one running between Dibrugarh and Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) and another between Kamakhya (Guwahati) and Rohtak. These trains aim to make long-distance travel easier and faster for people in Assam by offering modern facilities and better links with other parts of India, such as West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Haryana.

Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the projects, saying they will help protect biodiversity while boosting progress. The corridor and the new trains are part of wider infrastructure efforts in the region, balancing growth with environmental protection and supporting access and economic opportunities for local communities.
