The famous Kedarnath Yatra, a sacred journey to one of the Char Dham sites, is all set to become more comfortable in 2025. From May 2 to May 31, helicopter services will help devotees reach the holy Kedarnath temple, located in the beautiful Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. To make it easy for pilgrims, Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has opened online bookings for these services today at noon through its official Heliyatra portal.
Mandatory Registration Before Booking
Before booking helicopter tickets, devotees must complete a mandatory registration for the Kedarnath Yatra. This can be done on the official Uttarakhand tourism government portal. New users must create an account, while existing users can log in with their credentials. The registration form asks for the trip duration, number of travelers, and travel dates. Once this is done, a Yatra letter is generated, which is necessary for booking helicopter services on the Heliyatra portal.
Steps to Book Helicopter Service
To book the helicopter ride, pilgrims need to visit the Heliyatra portal and create a new account. After entering personal details, they will receive an OTP on their mobile number and email for verification. After logging in, they must enter the Yatra registration number to proceed. Pilgrims can then choose travel dates, time slots, number of passengers, and complete payment to confirm their booking.
Fares and Travel Routes
The helicopter shuttle services for the Kedarnath Yatra 2025 will operate from three locations: Phata, Sirsi, and Guptkashi. The round-trip fares are:
- ₹6,063 from Phata
- ₹6,061 from Sirsi
- ₹8,533 from Guptkashi
Each user can book a maximum of two tickets, and each ticket can include up to six passengers.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
If a traveler cancels the booking, a refund will be given within 5 to 7 working days after deducting cancellation charges. However, no refund will be issued if the cancellation is made less than 24 hours before the scheduled departure.
