The Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) expressway project, which has been in discussion for many years, is finally moving forward. Spanning 56 kilometres, this important road will help ease traffic problems and improve travel between Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. The project covers 23 kilometres in Noida, with the rest stretching across Faridabad and Ghaziabad. Officials recently met to revisit the plans and improve the way the project will be built.

This expressway is expected to benefit over 30 sectors and more than 1,000 industries. Once completed, it will help people travel faster and avoid traffic jams on other roads in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Work on Patch Roads and Connections
To make the FNG expressway more useful, small patch roads are also being constructed. These will connect different bridges and underpasses along the route. This will improve travel between places like Greater Noida West and Greater Faridabad.
New DPR and Route Planning
A new Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the unfinished stretch of the expressway has been prepared. It includes three possible alignments, and the final one will be chosen after approval from the department's head office. Officials have already completed surveys for all three options.
One major highlight of the plan is a six-lane bridge over the Yamuna River. This bridge will connect Noida Sector 168 with Sector 167A in Faridabad. The bridge will be 600 metres long and cost around Rs 200 crore. The cost will be shared by the governments of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Infrastructure Upgrades in Noida
Noida will also see big developments along the FNG route. These include a 3.68-kilometre underpass and a 650-metre elevated road. The underpass will cost about Rs 30.29 crore, while the elevated road is expected to cost Rs 633 crore. A 75-metre-wide approach road will also be constructed to make it easier for vehicles to access these new structures.
Better Travel Across NCR
Once the expressway is complete, people travelling between Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and even Gurugram will no longer need to pass through Delhi. This will reduce traffic on busy roads like Kalindi Kunj and help make travel smoother for everyone. It will also support the goals set out in the Noida Master Plan by improving road networks in the region.
Residents and commuters are hopeful that the FNG expressway will soon become a reality and bring major relief to daily travel.
