Union Minister of State for Planning and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh has requested Union Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal to speed up the process of preparing a policy to connect the Dwarka Expressway with the Delhi Airport Metro corridor (Orange Line) and the Dwarka Metro line (Blue Line).

Dwarka Expressway Metro Line to Benefit Residents
In a letter sent earlier this month, Mr. Singh highlighted that many new residential colonies have developed along the 29-km-long Dwarka Expressway, which links Gurugram to Delhi, as well as near Pataudi Road, Basai Road, and Farruknagar Road. He said that residents living in these areas would greatly benefit from metro connectivity to Delhi.
Dwarka Expressway Connectivity
Mr. Singh shared that the issue was recently discussed during a meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) with officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). During the meeting, it was agreed to consider extending both the Delhi Airport Metro (Orange Line) and the Dwarka Metro (Blue Line) to reach the Dwarka Expressway, and further link them to the Southern Peripheral Road via the Kherki Daula cloverleaf interchange on National Highway 48. He also mentioned that NCRTC officials provided details about a draft project that plans to extend the Orange Line to IFFCO Chowk, passing through Sectors 22 and 23 in Gurugram.
Dwarka Expressway Corridor to Enhance Commutation
If approved, this connection will make travel between Delhi and Gurugram faster and easier, benefiting thousands of daily commuters living along the rapidly developing Dwarka Expressway corridor. Mr. Singh emphasized that better metro connectivity will not only improve public transport but also support the growth and development of the entire Gurugram region.
