The ancient Galageshwara Temple is the major attraction of Galaganatha. An architecture of the Western Chalukyas, the Galageshwara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Galageshwara Temple is an 11th century architecture which has a unique pyramid shaped basement with a large hall and the inner sanctum. One can see several beautiful sculptures both in the interior and the exterior walls of the temple. The Galageshwara Temple is an enchanting architecture which forms a prime attraction of Galaganatha village. Earlier, this village was called Palluni and was a flourishing town under the Chalukya rule. Galaganatha is also the place where the river Tungabhadra meets the Varada river. The village Galaganatha is around 40 km from the town of Haveri.
