War Memorial, a popular tourist destination of Dharamshala, located at the entrance to the town, was founded in memory of the soldiers of Himachal Pradesh who fought for India post-independence. The walls of the memorial are carved and exhibit inscriptions. Some of the carvings can be traced to as far as 1046. The War Memorial is situated amid lush green trees and displays artistic landscaping.
