Molakalmuru is a panchayat town in Chitradurga district in Karnataka. The name of the places translates to 'broken knees' after the injuries that the Indians suffered from during the battle with the British.
The place is known for Molakalmuru sarees that are traditional silk sarees. Nunkemale Siddeshwara temple is one of the attractions here. A fair takes place at this temple once in three years. Another fair happens at the Nunkemale hill every year where residents from the nearby villages also be a part of the event.
Sri Rama Temple here is another attraction of Molakalmuru. Ramnavami is celebrated here in great splendour every year.
