Manchinbele Dam, Savandurga

Travellers exploring Thippagondanahalli Reservoir are recommended to visit the Manchinbele Dam that is also constructed across Arkavathi river. Like the Thippagondanahalli Reservoir, the Manchinbele Dam was also built for providing irrigational facilities to the Magadi Town. The site is also spelled as Manchanbele and Manchinabele. The area that is used for irrigation is called "thore saalu" that stands for “riverside” (in Kannada, "thore" means "river", "saalu" means "line").

The Manchinbele Dam is a perfect site for those who are planning to spend their time away from the city. The place is suitable for picnic as well as birdwatching. It is located 40 km away from Bangalore and travellers looking forward to visiting this dam can take the Magadi Road. The ideal time to visit Manchinbele Dam is from September to February.
