Thippagondanahalli Reservoir, Savandurga

If time permits, tourists on a trip to Savandurga Hill are recommended to explore the Thippagondanahalli Reservoir that was constructed in 1933. The construction process of this reservoir was supervised by Bharath Rathna Sir M Visvesvarayya.

Thippagondanahalli Reservoir was built across the Arkavathi river (tributary of Cauvery river) for the purpose of providing irrigational facilities to different regions of the Bangalore City. This reservoir is used by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB).

The site, otherwise known as Chamarajsagar or TG Halli Dam, acts as a perfect spot for bird watching and picnic. The ideal time for travellers to visit and explore the Thippagondanahalli Reservoir is from September to February.
