Bheemeshwari is becoming a favored destination for fishing enthusiasts, as the Kaveri River offers rich fishing opportunities, especially with its abundance of Mahseer, a popular game fish. Several fishing camps have sprung up around the town because of its increasing reputation as an Angler's Paradise.

There are a number of Nature Camps in Bheemeshwari and through these; you can take a tour of the jungle that's inhabited by a variety of animals like deer, jackals, leopards, bears, boars, crocodiles and a large number of bird species.

As it is surrounded by lush green forests and lies in the midst of steep valleys, this place is ideal for trekking and there are a number of trekking trails here. You can trek to Doddamkali, an isolated place that is ideal for bird watching that also offers opportunities for rafting and fishing. Doddamkali lies 7 km from Bheemeshwari.

You can also trek to Galibore, 16 km from Bheemeshwari, which is a great spot for fishing and you can stay at the Galibore Fishing Camp. This is a catch and release camp so if you do catch a fish, you have to release it back. This is mere sport fishing as the Mahseer is an endangered species.

There's an elephant camp site near the Cauvery Fishing Camp and you can trek along this route, Along the Cauvery River and through the jungle trail. The easy but enchanting trek will surely captivate you and send you reeling in realms of fantasy.
