Namgya rests at an altitude of 3048 m above sea level, on the banks of the river Satluj. A large part of the land in this region is barren and isolated. However, on the opposite side of the river, travellers can see fields of barley, turnips, apricots, and buckwheat.
Travellers can also visit a beautiful Buddhist temple in the village known as Lagang. The local deities of the villages are Chola, Kuldeo Narain Bushahru and Dabla.
