The Indian government has introduced a new travel option for passengers in Karnataka. A new Vande Bharat Express train will now run between Bengaluru and Belgaum, offering faster and more comfortable travel. This service will improve rail connectivity and benefit thousands of commuters in the state. It is operated by the South Western Railway and is a response to long-standing demands from the public.
Fast and Regular Travel Option
The Vande Bharat Express is known for its high speed and smooth ride. It will cover the 611-kilometre distance between Bengaluru and Belgaum in less than eight hours. The train will run six days a week, with Tuesday as a non-operating day. This makes it a regular and reliable travel option for passengers.
Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Railways, V. Somanna, announced that the KSR Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express will now be extended up to Belgaum. The central government has approved this move, which is expected to help many people in North Karnataka.
Stops and Schedule
The train, numbered 20661/20662, will stop at six major stations on its way. These include Yeshwantpur Junction, Tumkur, Davangere, Mylar Haveri, SSS Hubli Junction, and Dharwad. These stops will help passengers from various towns and cities along the route, not just from Bengaluru and Belgaum.
The train will depart from KSR Bengaluru at 05:45 am and reach Belgaum by 1:30 pm. The return trip will leave Belgaum at 2:30 pm and reach Bengaluru by 9:00 pm. This timing allows travellers to make the most of their day.
Comfortable and Affordable
There are two classes available on this train: AC Chair Car and Executive AC. The fare for a journey from Bengaluru to Belgaum is Rs 1400 for AC Chair Car and Rs 2500 for Executive AC. For the speed, comfort, and time saved, these prices are considered reasonable.
Reducing Passenger Load
This new Vande Bharat service is expected to reduce congestion on the route between Bengaluru and North Karnataka. It gives passengers another option, which can ease the load on other trains and buses. This will lead to a better travel experience for everyone.
