Agra Metro to Extend Services to RBS-Khandari By August; 13 New Stations Planned

Agra Metro is moving ahead quickly as the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) continues to expand the city's metro network. At present, metro trains run between Taj East Gate and Mankameshwar, covering six stations. The next step is to extend the metro line up to RBS and Khandari by August 2025. The full metro line to Sikandra is expected to be ready by March 2026, which will bring a big change in how people travel across Agra.

New Stations Coming Soon

The metro is expected to reach RBS, Raja Ki Mandi, and Agra College soon. These stations are already built, and finishing touches are being added. UPMRC is also completing tunneling work between SN Medical College and Mankameshwar. Trial runs on this stretch are likely to begin in July. If everything goes as planned, the stretch up to RBS will open in August, giving more people access to metro travel.

The first metro corridor will have a total of 13 stations. Project Director Arvind Rai has confirmed that after the success of the current six stations, work on the next phase is progressing well. The extension to RBS will be an important part of Agra's growing transport system.

Work in Progress at Other Stations

Work is also continuing at other important metro stations. The ISBT station is being developed as a main metro depot where trains will be parked and repaired. While some work is still pending, including two pillars and U-girders near the Khandari ramp, the depot is expected to be ready by July.

Construction at Guru Ka Taal and Sikandra is also going on. These stations are part of the final phase of the first corridor. Once completed, the metro will run from Taj East Gate to Sikandra, covering many key areas of the city.

When the entire line is ready, Agra Metro will help reduce traffic jams and give people a faster, safer way to travel. It will also help tourists who come to visit Agra's famous landmarks, like the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

The Agra Metro project is a big step forward in improving the city's transport. With the metro set to fully open by March 2026, Agra is preparing for a future of easy and modern travel for both locals and visitors.
