Bandipur Safari Lodge is the perfect halt for the wildlife safari, which is located on Mysore-Ooty road. It is near to the famous Bandipur National Park with the optimum atmosphere gifted by the Nilgiris. The Park formed by the Mysore Maharajas is one of the biggest tiger reserves in India.
It is an ideal place to learn about biological conservation which enhances our knowledge regarding wildlife including animals like elephants, boars, sambhar with predators like tigers and leopards and also infinite kinds of birds. The dry season of March to May is most appropriate for visiting Bandipur as the weather gives access to high visibility.
Animals are found near water areas and the heat forces the rarest of animals to overcome estivation and move out. November to January is best for bird watchers as certain migratory birds fly from northern India. This time is also suitable for trekking till the scorching heat of the summer returns back.
Gol Ghar is the banquet area which allows all the guests of the lodge to meet, eat and interact. During evening open top- jeeps are provided to visit the Tiger Reserve. Campfire with barbeque and guitar binds the travelers with the mysterious wilderness of Bandipur. Restaurants and bar are also available.
The cuisine includes Chinese, Continental, North Indian and South Indian which comprises both veg and non-veg. Naturalists familiarize the tourists with the unknown species of birds and animals and also inform about various measures to protect the forest and wildlife. Cameras are charged separately.
