India Tourism – Romantic Adventure Destinations for Couples

Ranthambore National Park

The Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest wildlife reserves in North India and was once a princely game conserve. It was established in the year 1955 and later in 1973 it initiated the Project Tiger initiative to conserve tigers.

Besides tigers, the park serves as a natural habitat to various wild animals which includes jackals, leopards, hyenas, marsh crocodiles, wild boars and different varieties of deer.

In addition, there is an abundance of aquatic vegetation, such as, lilies, duckweeds and lotus in the park. Travellers coming here can head out on a safari in this national park and get up close with these wildlife.

Auli

Another adventure travel destinations for couples is the beautiful town of Auli which is popular for skiing. This town is perched at an elevation of 2,800 mt above sea level and is known for its oak edged slopes and verdant coniferous forests.

It is also known as 'Bugyal' which means 'meadow' in the regional language. Enjoy the snow cover in the region and indulge in making a snowman or just have a bout of snowball fight.

If you want it to get more adventurous then head on out to the ski course and have fun skiing through this scenic place.

Rishikesh

Rishikesh, also known as Devbhoomi, is not only a noted pilgrimage centre but also one of the best places in North India to go river rafting.

The many rapids here pose a challenge to rafters who come here to indulge in this water sport. It is also a hub for couples who can enjoy in this adrenaline pumping activity.

You can also explore this region which has many temples all over and also a beautiful cover of green.

Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, the 'Golden City', epitomises the charm of a sandy desert, along with the royal palaces and the sturdy camels of Rajasthan.

This adventurous vacation spot for couples is situated in the middle of the great Thar Desert. Couples coming here can head out into the vast sandy desert on a camel and be disconnected from the rest of the world here.

It is also famous for its folk music and dance forms. You can enjoy an evening with your loved one watching the local tribes performing various dances and gorging on some local food.

The journey here is sure to leave you rejuvenated and will be etched onto your memory forever.

Coorg

Coorg or Kodagu is a tourist destination in Karnataka situated in the South Western part of the Malnad area of Western Ghats.

Popularly known as the 'Scotland of India' and the 'Kashmir of Karnataka', it is famous for its evergreen forests, lush green valleys, misty hills, sprawling coffee plantations, tea estates, orange groves, lofty peaks and fast flowing streams.

Coorg also offers an old world charm which is reflected in its sleepy towns. It is one of the apt adventure travel destinations for couples who can not only enjoy the picturesque beauty of this region but also indulge in rafting in the river here.
