Wokha is a district headquarters and a town and is located in the southern part of the state of Nagaland. It is inhabited by the Lothas, which is one of the largest tribes in Nagaland. For the most part of their history, this place remained isolated from the outer world like most other parts of Nagaland. It was only in the year 1876 that the British came here and made it the headquarter of the Naga Hills District under Assam.
