India is famous for its rich culture worldwide. Its traditions and rituals are also very diverse. Here is a list of some unique practices that can be found only in India

Lath Maar Holi

This is celebrated in the town of Barsana, in which women beat up the men with sticks.

In some villages of Karnataka, children with physical disabilities are buried neck-deep in the sand during solar eclipses to cure them. 

Burying Ritual

Jallikattu

In this, a bull is released into a crowd of people, and multiple human participants attempt to grab the large hump of the bull.

This ritual is performed only in Prayagraj by married women praying for long life for their husbands. In which they donate their braids. 

Veni Daan

Dhinga Gavar

As a part of Gangaur, this is celebrated in Jodhpur. In this, all dress-up women roam on the road and hit the nearby men with the stick.

Tossing the kids

This ritual is performed in parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka, In which kids are dropped down from a 12 -15-meter high wall on a starched blanket.

Thimithi

Performed in Tamil Nadu in which men have to walk slowly on the burring colas to honor Draupadi

Aadi Festival

In this the priests break the coconuts over the heads of the people gathered out side the temple for the ritual.

Made Snana

In some south Indian temples, the devotees roll on the temple ground to cure diseases and get healthier.

Theyyam

Pottan Theyyam’ is traditionally performed in Kerala with a large fire. People speak with ‘Pottan Theyyam’ and receive the blessing.
