Valley of Flowers is situated on the way to Hemkund Sahib through Govindghat in Uttarakhand. Located at a distance of 2 km from the village of Ghangharia, this region is bounded by hills enveloped with snow.
Apart from flowers tourists can also find animals like black Himalayan bears, tahrs, musk deer, snow leopards and serows along with rare species of some butterflies.
Valley of Flower National Park along with Nanda Devi National Park forms a unique ecological zone between Zanskar Valley and the Great Himalayas.
The best time to visit, however, is July to August, when the valley is in full bloom and bustling with numerous wildflowers.
