The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is responsible for the security of more than 356 industrial units, governments infrastructure projects, facilities & Establishments present throughout India.
A total of 62 airports has CISF security on duty.
The regulator, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), works with MHA to determine the deployment of the CISF based on the threat assessment and risk categorization.
In 2019 and 2020, the CISF deployment cost wasINR 1632.85 crores.
It was INR 2527.35 Crores in 2018-19
INR 2035.74 Crores in the year 2017-18
And, INR 1845.62 Crores in 2016-17
Aviation Security Fee (ASF) collected during 2019-20 was INR 1964.32 Crores
In the year 2018-19 it was INR 2183.63 Crores
INR 1922.86 Crores in 2017-18
And, fee collected in 2016-17 was INR 1685.64 Crores
At the moment, ASF is gathered in a central pool, and the money is used to pay for CISF expenses at all airports.
