Peacock Pansy Butterfly- Uttarakhand

This video features the Peacock Pansy Butterfly, one of the most common territorial butterflies in India. It is a scene from Rajaji National Park near Haridwar, Uttarakhand state in India. The scientific name of Peacock Pansy is Precis almanac.

The upper side of Peacock Pansy is light yellowish brown and on the hind wings, there are two white spots surrounded by yellow and black rings. This butterfly is mostly found during early morning.

Apart from India, Peacock Pansies are found in countries like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
