Monsoon

Monsoon time temperatures are very low, ranging to less than 15 degrees. Valparai gets some of the highest amount of rainfall in South India, Chinnakalar getting the most rain. Average rainfall during monsoon ranges from 350-500cms. This time of year is only for the ardent traveler, and is a good time to see the many waterfalls in and around Valparai.

Winter

Winter temperatures drop to as low as 0 degrees Celsius. Average temperatures range from 0-10 degrees Celsius. It is not advisable to travel to Valparai during winter. The cold gets pretty intense during winter and would hamper the enjoyment of the trip.
