Come winter and we would forget totally about some of the tropical destinations in India whcih are located far away from the cold weather conditions of winter.
While a some of us consider the sea shores to be the best place to click som e beautiful pictures, there are few others who would prefer the hill stations of north India. We bring to you some of the best winter destinations which you cannot afford to miss. So get your bags packing and head to the snow-filled locations of the country.
Zuluk

Zuluk is tiny hamlet which is located in the state of Sikkim which offers one captivating atmosphere during the winter season.
This hilly village was a mid way stop on the ancient Silk route and can be reached only after traversing through a large number of challenging curves.
Zuluk is the perfect place for one to enjoy beautiful views of the majestic Kanchenjunga and is the abode of the holy Nag Temple and the charming Kupup Lake, which is considered as one of the sacred lakes in the state of Sikkim.
Mechuka
Mechuka in the state of Arunachal Pradesh is one of the upcoming tourist destinations which is home to a large number of places to visit.
The otherwise green valley, turns itself into white during the winter months and invokes a surreal beauty within it. The major draw here is the 400 year old Samten Yongcha monastery which is located atop a hill.
Khati

Looking for an offbeat winter destination? If so, head straight to the village of Khati in Uttarakhand. The hamlet is the for those who want spend some alone time and can be reached only by a trek through the Dhakuri Pass.
During winter, the trekking path is covered entirely by snow which offers a panoramic setting. The stone houses along with the trees covered with snow surely adds on the beauty of the place.
Sonmarg

A visit to Sonmargduring winters would remind you of the sets of the movie Chronicles of Narnia. The place is well known for its view of the snow capped Himalayan peaks.
The place also doubles up as base to a number trekking camps, but could slow down the speed of your expedition due to heavy snowfall.
Kalpa

Kalpa is a tiny town in the state of Himachal Pradesh which would make you want to visit again and again. Kalpa is adorned in white during the winters and gets thicker with snow starting from the month of November until March.
The small hamlet is considered to have the cleanest and unpolluted air in the country and is away from crowds of a popular tourist destination.
