What are The Types of Schengen Visa?

There are 4 types of Schengen Visa:

Type A Schengen visa or Airport Transit Visa:

Required if you have a transit through or waiting for your connecting flight in the international zone of an Airport located in a Schengen country.

Type B Schengen visa:

Required for journeys lasting less than five days has been replaced by type "C" with the condition "transit".

Type C Schengen visa:

Required for a short stay of fewer than 90 days over a 180-day period.

Type C visa can be of three types:

A single-entry visa: allows entering the Schengen area once.
A double-entry visa: allows to enter the Schengen area twice
A multiple entry visa: allows entering the Schengen area many times.

Type D Schengen visa or National long-stay visa:

Required to work, live or study in any of the Schengen countries for a period longer than 90 days.
