Jal Mahal in Jaipur

Rajput kings surely had a passion towards art and architecture; numerous forts, palaces and havelis at every corner of Rajasthan proves it. In such a place, finding a castle in the middle of a lake is no surprise. Jal Mahal is one such garnishing edifice located at Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur.

It is one of the oldest structures in Rajasthan and has undergone many restorations over the years. However, Jal Mahal got a grand makeover during the rule of Raja Jai Singh II in the 18th century. Since then the Jal Mahal or the Water Palace has been on of the major tourist attractions in Jaipur.

How to Reach Jal Mahal

Jal Mahal is located on Amer Road in Jaipur. It is often covered while visiting Amer Fort. Autorickshaws, taxis or even government run buses go to Amer Road.

Deeg Palace is open on all days except Fridays. Deeg Palace is around 35km from Bharatpur, Rajasthan. It can be reached by buses travelling towards Alwar. Travellers can also travel through train and get down at Deeg Railway Station.
