Calico Museum Of Textiles

Calico Museum is a museum of textiles that is situated in Ahmedabad and was founded by Gautam Sarabhai. Ahmedabad used to be have a flourishing textile trade when the museum was initially set-up.
It displays textiles that were used by the Mughals from 15th to 19th century; tie-dyed textiles, temple hangings, amongst many other artefacts, such as Jain art and sculpture, furniture, etc.
The guided tour through the museum is from 10.30 am to 1 pm while the entry is only between 10.15 am to 10.30 am. The museum remains open on all days except Wednesdays and certain public holidays. Children of age below 10 are not allowed in the museum.
Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum

The Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum is set-up inside the Lakshmi Vilas Palace of Vadodara, the former place of residence of Gujarat's royal Gaekwad family. To get a peek into the royal lifestyle of the formerly ruling maharajas, visit this museum.
It is home to portraits and sculptures that were made by esteemed Indian as well as foreign artists. Paintings of Raja Ravi Verma steal most of the limelight here. The museum remains open from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm and stays closed on Mondays.
Auto World Vintage Car Museum

Just as the name suggests, this museum in Ahmedabad is home to some of the most magnificent and classy-looking vintage cars that you might've only seen in pictures. And what's more, for a price of Rs 500, visitors can go on a ride for 3.5 km in the car of their choice from the elaborate collection!
Some of the cars that you get to witness in the museum include popular brands like Rolls Royce, Cadillac, Bentleys, Packards, to name a few. The museum remains open from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 9 pm.
Kutch Museum

Formerly known as Fergusson Museum, it is one of the oldest museums of Gujarat and is located in Bhuj across the Hamirsar Lake. It was founded by Maharaja Khengari in 1877 and consists of the biggest collection of Kshatrapa inscriptions.
The collection includes coins, ancient artefacts and crafts of tribal people that give a lot of insight on the history of Bhuj. The museum remains open from 10 am to 1 pm and 2.30 am to 5.30 pm. It is closed on Wednesdays and public holidays.
Kite Museum

The Kite Museum of Ahmedabad happens to be first of its kind and only second in the world. It was founded by Bhanubhai Shah who used to collect kites right from the age of 21 and now the museum is home to an extensive collection of about 125 different kites.
Along with the collection of kites, the museum has information on history and making of kites, examples of how to make different materials of kites and so on.
The museum remains open from 10 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 6 pm on all days of the week except on Mondays, when it remains closed.
Watson Museum

Named after the British political agent of the Kathiawar agency, the Watson Museum is located in Jubilee Garden, amongst the Queen Victoria memorial institute buildings in Rajkot. The museum houses precious artefacts from the royal state of Rajkot.
Artefacts from Harappa and Mohenjodaro and some artefacts dating to the prehistoric Harappan civilisations are also available for display in this historically rich museum.
Watson museum is open from 9 am to 12.45 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. It remains closed on Wednesdays, 2nd and 4th Saturdays and on public holidays.
