Located at a distance of about 8 km from Qutub Minar, Tughlaqabad Fort is one of the oldest forts in the city. As per historical records, the fort was built in the early 14th century by Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq, the founder of the Tughlaq dynasty.

During his rule, it was one of the impregnable forts constructed in India. Even though the fort is lying in ruins today, it still attracts thousands of history lovers and locals every year. One can still find the grave of Ghiyas-ud-din in a tomb built within the boundaries of the fort.
