Trikuteshwara Temple is an ancient Hindu temple, which belongs to the time of Kalyani Chalukhyas. The shrine is so beautiful that one would never feel like leaving the place.
History Of Trikuteshwara Temple
According to the historical records,the architect of this temple was the great sculptor Amara Shilpi Jakanachari. He has designed many temples during the time of Kalyani Chalukhyas and the Hoysala rule. The famous Chennakeshava Temple in Belur is also the brain-child of the architect Amara Shilpi Jakanachari.

Architecture Of Trikuteshwara Temple
The architecture and design of Trikuteshwara Temple shows the kind of passion they had towards art and architecture. The temple has two shrines: one is the main sanctum with lingams, and another dedicated to the goddess Saraswati.
The temple has intricately carved figurines on the walls and pillars of the temple. The sanctum sanctorum houses three Shiva lingas which represent the Trinities (Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara).
There is another shrine dedicated to Goddess Saraswati along with the goddesses Gayathri and Sharada. Poojas are not performed in the Saraswati temple as it was destroyed during an invasion.
One can see ornate pillars, carvings and motifs inside and on the outer walls of the temple. Trikuteshwara Temple also has a temple tank which is built in the structure of a stepwell.

Trikuteshwara Temple is in the town of Gadag which is around 57km from Hubbali (Hubli) in North Karnataka. Gadag is a well-developed town and it is connected to all major parts of Karnataka. Visitors can reach Gadag by bus or train and take an auto or local bus to Trikuteshwara Temple.

Best Time To Visit Gadag
The period from October to February is the best time to visit Gadag. In summer, it will be extremely hot and hence it is not advisable to visit.
