The city of Charminar and biryanis is considered a perfect host for all its visitors from across the globe.

Although an emerging industrial hub in South India, the historic city has always kept its traditions and cultures rooted strong and firm. Starting from the unlimited joy, which is spread amongst its citizens, to its multihued marketplaces, from its yummy delicacies to its rich history, Hyderabad, in every sense of the word, has retained its old world charm.

Built atop a granite hill by the Kakatiya rulers, the fort was witness to the rise and fall of numerous other dynasties which ruled the place at different points of time. The structure measures around 400 ft and is now a major attraction amongst travellers, historians, archaeological hunters and common man alike.

Also known as the Shepherd's Hill, the Golconda Fort is one of the must visit places in the western part of the city. The fortress is simply not just a tourist attraction but also is an example of fine architecture.

The once official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad, the Chowmahalla Palace speaks volumes about the fine taste of architecture which was found in the rulers. The palace is built across more than 40 acres of land which has elegantly crafted interiors along with a very detailed architecture. The palace is believed to be inspired from Tehran Shah's Iran Palace.

The city of Hyderabad is not complete without Charminar and biryani. The Charminar is undoubtedly one of the most important landmarks of the city which was built by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shahi in 1591 AD.

The structure is built in the Indo - Islamic style of architecture with four gateways on the banks of the Musi river which once marked the centre of the city. Surrounded by the Laad Bazaar and Makkah Masjid, the four minarets have domes on top of each of them and are carved with several fascinating designs and artifacts.

The Paigah Tombs are also known as Maqbara Shams al - Umara which is one of the must-visit monuments in the royal city of Hyderabad. The tombs are located in the vicinity of Pisal Banda and stand as testimony to one of the mind-blowing craftsmanships of a bygone era. The structures are covered with intricately decorated mosaic works and marble stones.

The tombs were built by the Paigah family which exhibit a combination of Mughal and Moorish styles of architecture. It is the final resting place of several Paigah members and narrates glorious tales of a bygone era.
