We all know that it is Lord Narasimha who killed the demon king Hiranyakashyap to bless his devotee Prahlad. Various forms of Vishnu has been incarnated and one among them is the Lord Narasimha. There are some amazing temples dedicated to this God and the paths you need to take to reach these temples are just awesome and at times quite tedious and adventurous as well.
Most of the temples of Lord Narasimha are either inside a cave or on the hill-tops. There are a lot of devotees who would be visiting these shrines to seek blessings from the Lord. You may have to make a lot of preparations before you set to visit some of these temples. Palaka Narasimha Swamy Temple, Bhadrachalam
Bhadrachalam is famous for the Rama Temple. However, there is another interesting temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha. It is called as Palaka Narasimha Swamy Temple. Here the idol is said to be Swayambu and it is also known as Yogananda Jwala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.

Diguva Mangalagiri Temple Guntur
Perched on top of a hill in Mangalagiri, the temple of Diguva Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is one among the three prominent Lord Narasimha Temples in Guntur. Mangalagiri is a town dating back to the erstwhile Vijayanagara Temple.

Bhuvaraha Narasimha Temple ,Halasi
The historical town of Halasi or Halashi was the capital of Kadamba Dynasty. It is now located in Khanapur of Belgaum. The Bhuvaraha Narasimha Temple is one among the most important temples here. The beautiful Bhuvaraha Narasimha Temple shines in the Kadamba Style of architecture.

Ugra Narasimha Statue, Hampi
The Ugra Narasimha Statue is said to be the largest statue in Hampi. However, many parts of this statue has been destroyed during the war times of Vijayanagar Empire. Ugra Narasimha statue surely stands out as one of the masterpieces in the Hampi ruins.

Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, Nuggehalli
Nuggehalli was once under the Hoysala Kingdom. The Lakshmi Narasimha Temple in Nuggehalli was constructed by Bomanna Dandanayaka. The Trikuta Vimana Style of architecture made out of Soapstone (Chloritic Schist) is the main feature of this temple.

Yoga Narasimha Temple, Melukote
Melukote is famous for Cheluvanarayana Temple in Karnataka. Yoga Narasimha Temple is one among the other temples located in Melukote hill. As per the legend, this idol of Yoga Narasimha is installed by Prahalada himself.

Narasimha Jhira, Bidar
Narasimha Jhira or Narasimha Jharni Cave Temple is one of the unique temples in Bidar, Karnataka. Here the Lord is inside a cave filled by stream. Even the idol is half drowned in water. Devotees have to walk in the knee deep water to reach the idol at the end of the cave.

Seebi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Sira
Narasimha Swamy Temple is Seebi (Sibi) is one of the monuments under ASI. Legends has it that, once Lord Narasimha appeared in a merchant's dream and showed this place as his abode. So the merchant built a small temple. Later, a larger temple was built in Dravidian style of architecture.

Ahobilam is known as Nava Narasimha Kshetram, meaning there are 9 Narasimha Temples here. Upper Ahobilam Temple is the main shrine which has Ugra Narasimha as the prime deity.

Vadapally Narasimha Swamy Temple is one of the ancient temples in Telangana. Here a popular belief is that the Lord is breathing. It is said that some can see the idol breathing with the help of the lamps kept in front of the idol.
