Earlier, Jim Corbett National Park was a hunting ground but it got prohibited during the time of the British East India Company. Interestingly, it is the first reserve where the 'Project Tiger' was launched to save the endangered Royal Bengal Tigers.

  • Wear sober colour clothes and avoid bright colours like red or yellow as it might distract the animals.
  • Remember that it is the home of animals and you are just an intruder. So maintain a distance from the wildlife and follow all the rules.
  • Don't do flash photography as it will disturb the animals.

Jim Corbett National Park has sub-tropical Himalayan climate. So, it has extreme climatic changes in monsoons and summer. However, the park opens only after the monsoon. November to June is the best time to visit Jim Corbett National Park. Especially, the winter seasons from December to February has a good climate and worth visiting during this time.

Bijrani Zone will be open to public from October 1st to 30th June. Other Zones will open only from November 15 to June 15.
