Kashmir is known for its snow covered mountains, picturesque valleys, poised lakes, beautiful trees, vibrant flowers and has a wide range of adventure activities lined up for its visitors.

It is every traveller's dream to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life and experience the calmness and silence of the less populated places around the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir forms the crown of the nation and has some beautiful valleys, where one could lose oneself in the beauty of nature.

Poonch Valley

Poonch Valley

Located on the Indo-Pak border, the Poonch Valley draws visitors from across the world. The valley is bordered by the Pir Panjal range of mountains which is filled with green meadows, alpine mountains and beautiful natural lakes.

The valley is also home to a waterfall and seven lakes along with an 18th century fort and small hamlets of Mandi and Surnakote.

Dha Hanu Valley

Dha Hanu Valley

The valley of Dha Hanu is known as the land of the Aryans and showcases a wide cultural diversity and nature in its picturesque surroundings which comprise of the villages of Ladakh. The valley is located at a lower altitude and makes it one of the best places to spend some quiet time.

The valley is formed by the Hindukush mountains along with the river Indus which attracts visitors from various corners of the globe.

Betaab Valley

The valley gets its name from the Sunny Deol-Amrita Singh debut movie Betaab. The valley is surrounded by lush green meadows, which makes it a favourite spot for Bollywood movies.

It also showcases snow clad mountains, dense vegetation and is en route to the famous cave shrine of Amarnath.

The lakes of Baisaran and Tulian are major draws here due to their crystal clear cold water which flows down the snow-capped mountains.

The valley is known for its beautiful meadows which comprises of pines, deodars and alpine trees. The valley was opened up for visitors in recent times and is surrounded by natural beauty in every nook and corner of the place.

The valley is located near the LOC line of the Indo-Pak border. The valley always has snow covered mountains and it continues to attract visitors from all over the world.

Nubra Valley

The Nubra Valley is well known for its orchards, scenery, Bactrian camels and monasteries. Nubra Valley was orginally known as Ldumra which in translation means the Valley of Flowers.

The valley is sandwiched between Tibet and Kashmir and offers some breathtaking views. The valley is not only known for its scenic beauty but also is a place which is home to a large number of Buddhist monasteries.

Shyok Valley

The Shyok Valley gets its name from the river Shyok which is formed by the Rimo Glacier. The valley has a large number of rivers which adds on to the beauty of the place. The Shyok Valley lies close to the Nubra Valley.

The river Shyok flows approximately for about 550 km before meeting the river Indus.

Considered to be one of the most beautiful and scenic valleys in the Ladakh region, Suru Valley is bordered along the mountain range of the majestic Himalayas.

A trekker's paradise, Markha valley is wrapped by Kang Yatse in the eastern side and Zanskar range in the south west.

Once you are atop at one of the higher peaks, you would be delighted with the mind blowing views of the peaks of Korakoram, Stok Kangri, Kang Yatse and Nun Kun.

One cannot miss the beautiful Buddhist gompas, the ancient villages, rock formations, canyons and the snow covered peaks of the region.
