The havelis in Rajasthan bring out the charm and grandeur of the bygone era of the Rajput dynasty. Spread across the state, these structures once belonged to the erstwhile rulers, rich merchants who have treasured in its walls the aura of the bygone era, along with the art and cultural heritage of Rajasthan.

From Mughals to the Hindus and from the Shekawats to the wealthy Goenkas, each haveli reflects the class and grandeur of its owners. These mansions make one of the most interesting destinations for those visiting Rajasthan.
Bagore Ki Haveli

In the historical capital of the Mewar Kingdom is the majestic Bagore ki Haveli. Built by Amir Chand Badwa in the 18th century, the structure is located at the banks of the Lake Pichola and has more than 100 rooms with intricately designed balconies and walls that are filled with murals, which throw light on the times of the bygone era.
Piramal Haveli

Built in the year 1924, by Seth Piramal Chaturbhuj Makhanja, unlike others, this haveli showcases a very modern approach to the traditional architecture. Seth Piramal was a businessman who was involved in the trade of silver, cotton and opium.
The haveli at Bagar is constructed both in the Rajasthani and Italian styles of architecture with the European-style pillars connecting the eight rooms around a courtyard. The structure is now converted into a boutique hotel, which brings in a large number of visitors.
Samode Haveli

This haveli was constructed by the erstwhile prime minister of Jaipur, Rawal Sheo Singh, around 175 years ago. This mansion was constructed into a heritage hotel in the year 1988. The structure opens itself to the guests with luxurious artworks in every corner of the structure.
The elaborately painted dining rooms, airy courtyards and the elephant ramp at the entrance serve as the symbols of the grand lifestyle of the Kings who walked down these courtyards.
Alsisar Mahal

Yet another heritage property in Jaipur which has preserved the grandeur of the past, this haveli was built in 1862 and was owned by the Kachawa clan of Rajput before being converted into a heritage hotel, which host a number of Rajasthani cultural shows such as the traditional dances, puppet shows, etc., which would help the guests to get a deeper understanding of the culture of the region.
Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli
The complex floral patterns and lattices carved here represent the life and time of the royals in the 18th century Jaislamer. The haveli was the home of Diwan Mohata Nathmal, who was the erstwhile Prime Minister of Jaisalmer and was commissioned in the year 1885.
One can notice the architectural differences in two sides of the haveli, which are constructed differently due to a clash between two architects.
Patwon Ki Haveli
Constructed in the 18th century, Patwon ki Haveli is a complex of five havelis built adjacent to each other. The complex was constructed by Guman Chand Patwa, who was a famous trader of textile and precious metals.
The havelis exhibit grand wooden ceilings and mud floors, which serve as a means to control the temperature inside the structure. The elaborate paintings of yellow sandstone add on further to the grandeur of the cluster of havelis.
