Museums are the treasure trove of knowledge but not many are excited to visit them. Hence, many projects are undertaken to improve the inflow of visitors to the museums. Similarly, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has come up with "The Rails", a lavish restaurant at the National Rail Museum in Delhi.

It is an initiative to develop the National Rail Museum as an evening destination in New Delhi. Visitors can go around the museum and also enjoy some awesome food in the premises. It is a theme based restaurant with a facade that resembles the central dome portion of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai.
The National Rail Museum
The National Rail Museum is not just an indoor museum with the models of trains, it also has an outdoor museum with heritage engines and a toy train. The museum was established in 1977 in an area over 10 acres at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi. The National Rail Museum gives an in-depth information on the history and the heritage of Indian rails.

"The Rails" restaurant which is opening soon is definitely going to be an eye-catcher. IRCTC is also planning to create a 'light and sound show' and another 'vintage hotel' in the museum complex. The 'vintage hotel' is going to be created on the 'Palace on Wheel' coaches which resembles the luxury trains of India.
This grand project of IRCTC will surely push the National Railway Museum to the top charts of Delhi Tourism. "The Rails" along with other facilities will be an interesting spot to spend your evenings and weekends. By this way, people are educated about the heritage of Indian railways and entertained at the same time.
