During the month of November, Jampui Hills host Tripura's biggest festival, i.e, the Orange and Tourism Festival. Tripura produces some of the best quality oranges right here in Jampui, and to show gratitude for the produce, people started celebrating the Orange festival.

Back in the 1960s, the locals grew oranges purely for self-consumption. But export of these oranges started rising across the country. This, in turn, helped in improving the economy of Jampui, which gradually encouraged people to clear more spaces of land for its production.

Now, tourists from all over the world visit Jampui between the months of September to December, to witness the festival. Oranges are arranged in the form of wildlife or famous forts of India and kept for exhibition. A grand fair with stalls selling Tibetan handicrafts, oranges, tea leaves and coffee beans is organized, which is sold to tourists visiting the hills. Through this festival, the government also pushes to improve the state's tourism.
