For most people, jumping from a plane is probably going to be the last thing you want to be doing for kicks, but over the last two years, skydiving, has become an extreme sporting activity in India. The best time to go skydiving is anytime of the year except rainy seasons. However for skydiving, timing is more important than month to indulge in this sport. It is recommended that on a clear day you may go skydiving either in the morning from 8:00 am to 10:00 am or in the late afternoon from 4:00 pm till 5:00 pm. Dhana, Madhya Pradesh

Situated in the heart of India, nearly 186 km from Bhopal lies Dhana in Madhya Pradesh which frequently hosts skydiving camps for adventure enthusiasts. The 4000 ft. jump might not give you much freefall time, but the experience of gazing over the vast emptiness of the landscape is worth the few minutes of unaided flight.

Here, participants can can choose between two types of jumps - the static-line jump, and tandem jump. In the first, the participant jumps solo from an altitude of 4000 feet, and the parachute opens automatically by a static-line attached to the airplane. Travellers seeking adventure in Madhya Pradesh, skydiving is one the best options for them.

Deesa, Gujarat

The Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG) was the first Indian sporting body to look at skydiving as an adventure sport, eventually helping Gujarat become the first India state to have a certified drop-zone in Deesa. The lake-side city has hosted several skydiving tours and camps run by the Indian Parachuting Federation in 2012, and there are plans for more camps this year. People from Deesa town and surrounding villages gathered to watch parachute sky-divers jumping from the sky.

Amby Valley, Maharashtra

Amby Valley in Maharashtra is located very close to Pune and is considered as one of the best skydiving spots in India. Jumping over Aamby Valley is widely recognized as one of the most epic jumps one will ever be able to experience. Currently, 10,000 ft tandem jumps are the only offering at Amby Valley. A harness which is tied to the instructor while skydiving is called as tandem jumps. Travellers seeking adventure in Amby Valley, skydiving is one the best options for them.

Mysore, Karnataka

Located a few hours away from Bangalore, at the base of the Chamundi Hills, Mysore has hosted several skydiving camps in the past, and a couple of camps were organized in February 2013 too. Organised by The Drop Zone, Kakini Enterprises, a New Delhi based company, the camp gives avid adventure enthusiasts the options of static jumps, tandem jumps and accelerated freefalls to choose from, all while enjoying a fantastic view of the landscape.
